What types of services are included in your in-home care?
Our non-medical in-home care covers a wide range of support, including companionship, medication reminders, bathing and personal hygiene assistance, light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, errands, pet assistance, and mobility support. We also provide engaging activities, exercise, and field trips as appropriate. Please note that we do not provide medical treatments such as wound care or IVs—our services focus on daily living assistance, safety, and well-being.
How does your respite care service work for families and caregivers?
Respite care at Mona Lisa Cares is designed to give family caregivers a much-needed break—whether for a few hours, overnight, or longer periods. Our experienced caregivers can step in to provide all standard in-home care, companionship, and supervision so loved ones remain safe and comfortable at home. The owner, Mona Church, is personally involved in providing and supervising respite care, ensuring continuity and trust. Contact us to discuss your family’s specific scheduling needs.
Is your wheelchair-accessible transportation available for non-medical outings?
Yes! Our two wheelchair-accessible vans are available for a variety of transportation needs, not just medical appointments. We provide rides to doctor visits, shopping trips, social events, church, family gatherings, the Gettysburg Cancer Center, Hanover Cancer Center, and more. Our drivers are experienced, compassionate, and dedicated to your loved one’s safety and comfort. Please book in advance to ensure van availability for your desired dates.
What makes Mona Lisa Cares different from franchise agencies?
We are a locally owned and operated business—not a franchise. This means the owner, Mona Church, is directly involved in every aspect of care, often working shifts herself, training caregivers, and personally handling respite and transportation services. Our focus is on personalized, consistent care tailored to each client’s needs. We also uniquely offer in-house wheelchair-accessible transportation, a service not commonly provided by local competitors.
Are your caregivers licensed, insured, and background-checked?
Absolutely. Mona Lisa Cares Home Health is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All caregivers and staff undergo thorough background checks, are covered by liability and workman’s compensation insurance, and receive hands-on training led by the owner, who is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Activity Director Certified (ADC). Our team is also CPR/AED-certified and adheres to strict HIPAA compliance to protect client privacy.
How do you match a caregiver with a client’s needs and personality?
We take great care to match each client with a caregiver who meets their unique needs, preferences, and personality. The owner, Mona Church, personally oversees the matching process, drawing on her 25+ years of experience in elder care. We consider factors like required services, mobility needs, interests, and client comfort to ensure a positive, trusting relationship. Ongoing feedback from families is always welcome to make any necessary adjustments.
